Who am I

I am Mr. Feng, and I’m from Chengdu, China. You can also call me Feng.

My day job has nothing to do with the internet. I work in non-destructive testing, a traditional industry, putting food on the table for my wife and my 15 year old son. But I’ve always known that a single salary will never give me real financial security, especially with the global economy continuing to slow down.

So starting in 2020 during the pandemic lockdowns, I began using every spare hour after work to teach myself digital marketing. No mentor, no one to guide me, just figuring it all out on my own through trial and error online.

5 Years of Trying Everything

Over 5 years I tried pretty much everything. Shopify stores, SEO, CPA, content farms, you name it. I bought plenty of courses from so called gurus online, only to find they were either selling get rich quick fantasies or pushing content that was already years out of date. That garbage burned through my money, wasted my time, and worst of all, it kept chipping away at a beginner’s confidence.

I Did Make Money. But It Came With a Cost.

In the SaaS affiliate space, I once used some gray hat strategies to get real traction across a few overseas programs and pulled in steady recurring commissions for several months in a row. That experience gave me a firsthand look at just how powerful the compounding effect of SaaS affiliate income can be.

But it came with a cost. Merchant compliance lines can tighten at any moment, accounts get banned, commissions get clawed back. It’s a cat and mouse game that has no future and will never get me out of the 9 to 5.

What I’m Focused on Now

That’s when I realized the era of gray hat easy money is dead. And that’s what pushed me to go fully white hat and compliant.

Right now I’m deep in research testing cold Google Ads traffic sent directly to SaaS affiliate landing pages, no funnel, no email sequence, no retargeting, 100% compliant. I’m trying to find out whether this approach can actually work in 2026, whether it can break even, and whether it can be scaled.

I use the salary from my day job as the ad budget for my after hours research. Even when I’m completely drained after work, I still sit down at my computer, think things through, research new approaches, apply for more SaaS affiliate programs, build landing pages, set up Google Ads campaigns, run them, review the results, and go again.

Why I’m Documenting Everything in Public

I’m not some millionaire guru and I’m not pretending to have all the answers.

I’m just someone in the trenches, studying and testing Google Ads for SaaS affiliate programs. What you’ll find here isn’t motivational fluff or success stories. You’ll see my raw data, conclusions that might turn out to be wrong, the process of constantly correcting and refining, and the technical details that other people gloss over in a single sentence but actually trip beginners up for weeks.

I learn in public. I may not be able to show you a success story, but I can at least document a process that helps you avoid the mistakes I already made. Completely honest, fully transparent data.

If you’re like me and you’ve seen through the marketing noise online, and you want to watch an ordinary working person navigate this path step by step using data and compliant strategies, welcome to my experiment.
